Leather, Kydex, and other materials used in the handcrafted sheaths for knives, pocket knives, guns, and more.

We also have tools for working leather and Kydex in our tools section. Consumables, such as buckles, snaps, and eyelets, are in the consumables section.

Last but not least, we need a place to carry our knife.

Like the rest of the knife, the sheath must be adapted to the needs of the knife.

Depending on how you carry the knife, we differentiate between two types of sheaths:

- Horizontal sheaths: In this type of sheath, the knife is held horizontally. It is a discreet and quite functional way to carry the knife. They are usually adapted to be carried on the belt or on the back, so that the knife is concealed. Widely used by bodyguards and security personnel.

- Vertical sheaths: This is the classic style, with the knife hanging along the leg.

Depending on the working conditions, we must choose the appropriate materials for the sheath.

- Natural materials: If we want to make a sheath with these materials, our choice will be leather. We find many types of leather on the market, almost as many as there are animals. The most common are cow or calf, horse, and bull leather. In slightly more exotic leathers, crocodile, shark, snakes, some African antelopes, and kangaroo.

- Synthetic materials. There are two options: textile sheaths made from synthetic nylon-type threads or sheaths made from Kydex. Kydex is a plastic material that is molded into the desired shape by heat.

BUY KYDEX

The shape of the sheath is usually made in shapes similar to the knife. Depending on the type of material, we differentiate between manufacturing methods.

Mainly when making a leather sheath, we can make a sandwich-style or wad-style sheath.

In Kydex, they are usually made sandwich-style.

In textile materials, both are possible.

Depending on the materials to be used in our sheath and the work we are going to do on it, we will need certain tools, for working with leather or kydex.
